There are quite a few false impression about this city. Although there are wars being fought in distant regions of the country I find that despite that major blemish, the people of Sudan strive for growth and development. As a predominately Muslim nation you can see Islam thriving side by side with many Christians from Ethiopia and Southern Sudan. I'll post many pictures of new churches that have been constructed.
Below is a picture of the new mall built recently. It has become very popular as a hang out place for the younger crowd.
One of the many apartment complexes being raised in Khartoum. This isn't even in the best part of town!
Here we have the famous Al Fateh tower/hotel. Very pricey. The bridge shown is under construction and is connecting mainland Khartoum with the island Tuti. Huge plans for development are underway for the tiny island.
