The Khartoum National Museum was small in size but has potential to be great. Tons of stone from ancient sites in Northern Sudan have been excavated and brought in. There was also a display of Christian art from Nubia and Ethiopia that was quite elaborate and impressive.
The outside of the museum.

See any resemblance? A Roman bust of Emperor Augustus. There was no label along with the sculpture but it would make sense historically. Do the Tullo's have claim to it? Ha!
I see the resemblance! Great pictures, looks like you are having a fantastic time. Too bad you missed the inauguration, I am sure you can catch up when you get back. Try to catch his speech, very good, not terribly long. Lost started last night. Full blown time travel is the central theme. I liked it. Still don't know who built the time travel device, it has been ther for quite a while. We shall see. Take care. Love you. Pops (Mom will check in tonight when she comes home from work)
ReplyDeleteJustin - I'm so psyched after reading your blogs. Keep up your mind & and sensory of where you are, and who you are. We once consisted of an Empire like the history Sudan. You could be the Emperor and a King. With seeing what you have seen much here is the same, but much more is different. Ray
ReplyDeletenah, I dont think we have a claim to it. the stone is better looking and smarter! lol! Sounds like u r getting kultured and having a good time. How's Loloa?

I do see a resemblance....you, of course, are better looking! Your blogs are giving me a good sense of what you're experiencing. I really liked your picture of the water pots and I would have loved to experience the market buzz. Continue to enjoy your waning days and have fun at the wedding in your newly fashioned traditonal duds.
